Girl's Trip to Nashville

Nashville is known for being the Bachelorette Party central – and for good reason. It is also the perfect city to plan a girl's trip with your ride or dies.

There is the eclectic music scene, from blues, rock, jazz, hip-hop, to the good ol' country. The fashion scene is fierce with bold leather jackets, tight reclaimed jeans, and carefully cut fedora hats. Everything seems to have a story and Nashville comes live with all of it.

Where to Stay

There are a lot of hotels in Nashville that have great reviews for staying at over the weekend. The Hermitage Hotel is a favorite of the locals. If you appreciate soaking tubs, heavy curtains and a view, make your reservations at this hotel.

The 506 Lofts, the Loews Vanderbilt hotel, and the Gaylord Opryland are also recommended. If arriving early, most places would let you drop your bags off so that you can explore the city until your room is ready.

If renting an Airbnb is an option, check out the East Nashville, the Germantown, or the 12 South neighborhoods. There is a lot to do in those neighborhoods from finding the best restaurants in town to shopping local.

Where to Eat

Nothing beats a good ol’ southern food.

Peg Leg Porker is everything the locals say it is. It’s not a fancy place, but get your grub on and just go there and eat. I recommend going there for lunch.

Nashville has much more to offer than pork, biscuits and gravy. Try switching it up and go to Smiling Elephant for some authentic Thai food. They have delicious food and a large selection of teas to choose from. 5th and Taylor is a great place to go to for brunch. It is located in the Germantown neighborhood and has an industrial warehouse type feel.

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is a must try when in Nashville.

We didn’t go to Hattie B’s, but, The Stillery had hot chicken on the menu that I tried. If you have ever had Ethiopian food, you know how hot and spicy our food can get. Hot Chicken didn’t do it for me. NEXT!

Dance it Out

No trip is complete without experiencing a touristy night out.

Historic Broadway comes alive at night with some of the best country music you will ever hear.

Country music isn't for everybody. Don't fret, there are also some bars that play hip-hop and RnB music as well. The Valentine ended up being our go to dance club for the rest of our stay.

Coffee Break Hour

As someone who is a BOUGIE COFFEE LOVER, I can say that Nashville thrives in the coffee scene. There are so many coffee shops to pick from, each with an ambiance that is even too cool for the hipster crowd. Frothy Monkey, may forever be my favorite coffee shop. There was so much creativity in their menu and so much froth. Don’t forget to check out Steadfast Coffee, Barista Parlor, and Humphreys as well.

I definitely recommend going to Café Intermezzo for a classy coffee date with your girls. This is an old fashioned Austrian coffeehouse that has an intimate set up. They have a variety of desserts to choose from, and coffee specialties. The menu may be overwhelming with all types of goodies, but the waiters are so friendly and give out recommendations.

Tourist Activities

Nashville has all these hidden gems of wall art all over the city. The #WhatLiftsYou wings by Kelsey Montague is probably the most popular. #ibelieveinnashville is also another popular mural located in the 12 South neighborhood. My personal favorite, the hot air balloon basket also by Kelsey Montague is found in East Nashville. It is inspirational and uplifting.

You can’t go to the Athens of the South and not visit the Parthenon. The Parthenon, standing proudly as the centerpiece of Centennial Park, is the replica of the original 42-foot statue in Greece. It serves as Nashville’s art museum and is considered the pinnacle of classical architecture.

If you are visiting during the holidays and you aren’t staying at the Gaylord Opryland, you may want to make a stop. The hotel has lavish holiday displays featuring more than three million twinkling lights and festive décor. The Grand Ole Opry, showcasing a mix of famous country musicians every weekend, is a few minutes’ drive from the hotel as well.

Last few hours at the airport, get a massage at one of the vendors, or get a drink at one of the airport bars and listen to the local musicians before your flight departs.
